It's 2:30am. Mackenzie and I are awake. We were planning to sleep one more hour before we left this morning, but sometimes you need your Heavenly Daddy more than you need sleep. Now is one of those times.
Just a little bit ago, I was awakened by Mackenzie's soft sobs coming from the hallway outside my room. "What's wrong Mackenzie?" I asked her repeatedly.
Timidly she approached the door, and said, "I just dreamed the devil turned into a snake and was trying to get into my bed."
We've been told that the malaria medication can give you nightmares and hallucinations, but I know this is something more. This is God's enemy trying to deceive us into being ineffective for our Father's kingdom.
My husband jumped up to console her and let her know exactly what I was thinking. "The devil is just trying to scare you because he knows you are about to do a lot of big things for Jesus." Then we prayed.
We prayed that we would feel God's bigness and His greatness and know that He is stronger than Satan and that He has already defeated him. We prayed we would feel the peace that comes from being sealed in Christ from the moment of our salvation. And we thanked God for crushing the snake's head!
Mackenzie crawled into our bed, where now she is starting to peacefully drift back to sleep before she wakes up in less than an hour to get on that plane and head to a country where Satan has had a stronghold for generations.
But now our enemy must be shaking in his boots because God is rising up a new generation to proclaim His Name and His glory to the darkest and farthest places of the earth!
God's enemy should feel threatened. Truth is being revealed - Satan has already been defeated and there is Victory in Jesus. Or as Mackenzie said it, "God is Bigger than the boogieman!"
Promise for Today:
You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. Genesis 50:20
